The PPAI Media Credentials Policy:
The PPAI Expo is a closed industry event, open only to those who work in the promotional products industry. Since we want to get our message out to the public, we’re always pleased when media expresses interest in participation.
At the same time, we find that it’s still necessary to have an established set of guidelines to verify and qualify media. Our current criteria requires that those we credential must be “working journalists,” which we define as individuals currently employed or retained by a recognized news organization serving a general circulation/audience. In addition, our decision to credential media takes into consideration whether a publication might actually cover our event and/or our industry and how the industry and/or the Association will be presented.
In general, individuals who will not be admitted as media include:
- Book authors
- Freelancer writers without written consent from the publication
- Companies/organizations that produce marketing/advertising materials as opposed to substantive editorial coverage
- Public relations staff or representatives from communications, print and on-line promotion organizationsSales staff for publications
- Financial analysts
- Publications associated with consulting firms
